Black Market Activities

While your focus should be on building your own country, it's important to look at other alternatives for advancement. Sometimes these aren't always legal or ethical. While these are useful tools, remember, they can be double edged and may come back to haunt you if you don't use them the right way.

Step 1: Select a Black Market Activity

Research Espionage

Steal a research technology from an opponent - minimum level 2 technology. Costs are as follows

  • Level 2 Technology $1000

  • Level 3 Technology $3000

  • Level 4 Technology $10,000

  • Level 5 Technology $35,000

Worker Strike

Orchestrate a strike in a mine, factory (power) or transport service. Costs as follows for Mine, factory or transport of:

  • Technology level 1: $100

  • Technology level 2: $1000

  • Technology level 3: $2000

  • Technology level 4: $7000

  • Technology level 5+: $10,000

To overcome a strike the victim must pay twice the above cost and roll a die.

  • Die result 4-6 successful end to the strike

  • Die result 1-3 strike continues and must pay again for a re-roll

Saboteurs

You can permanently destroy a mine, factory (power) or transport service in a province. Costs as follows for Mine, factory or transport of:

  • Technology level 1: $150

  • Technology level 2: $1750

  • Technology level 3: $3500

  • Technology level 4: $10,000

  • Technology level 5+: $40,000

Once destroyed it cannot be rebuilt and will be set permanently to technology level (or number of resources for mines) of 0.

Incite Rebellion

You can create a revolution inside another country's capital by inciting the locals to revolt. You will place your own people within the target's populace to bring tensions within that society to a boiling point whereby the locals target the government in violent rebellion. It's not cheap - it will cost you the sum of all provinces at $100,000 per province, but if it comes off your opponents will come to a standstill until they manage to put it down.

This cost will be renewed each round if the revolt is to continue and the target country must:

  • Bring 75% of their military back to the capital province

  • Pay $25,000 per province to quell the violence

  • Die result 4-6 successful end to the strike

  • Die result 1-3 strike continues and must pay again for a re-roll

Counter-Terrorism

There are lots of ways that others can mess with your country, but never fear - you can invest in counter-terrorist operations to restrict those pesky opponents.

Protection Offered: Any opponent attempting to use the specific Black Market attack against you must roll a 6 to have success. They will be detected regardless of success or failure.

Step 1: State the type of counter-terrorism you require:

  • Research Espionage - $2000 per country

  • Worker Strikes - $1000 per province

  • Saboteurs - $1000 per province

  • Rebellion - $10,000 per province for EACH province in the country
