YOUR GROUP TASK

Task: Create a Report for your Jack the Ripper Investigation

1. Open the Report Template

2. Make a copy for your group and fill in the sections required using the information from this site along with any other information you gather via books or the internet.

3. You MUST share the document with your group members AND teacher

Submit

1. You must submit the link to your report only in the assignment submission in the Introduction Section of the HSS1C Moodle. (You must be logged into Moodle to access this)

Each member of the group MUST submit the report.

Copy and paste it from your web browser into the submission area before. Remember to make the link clickable!

2. You must complete the Group Work Evaluation Form for your group's contributions - you can find the form for your class on Moodle in Introductions and Welcome Back Wake-Up.

Requirements

Remember to include:

  • A profile of the killer

  • Your suspect and some information about him

  • Reasons why he is, or is not the killer

  • Include images and other elements that might make your presentation more appealing (be careful with animations)

  • If you use web content remember to include where you find it somewhere in the presentation.

Tips and Hints

Some things to remember when creating your report:

  • Keep formatting consistent - if you use a font or font size in one section, keep it the same throughout.

  • Use images wisely - don't just copy/paste them into the report; make sure they look good and fit in with the section around them.

  • Bullets, headings, tables - these are all excellent tools to organise text and images. The neater and more organised your work is, the easier it is to grade (and more chance for higher marks!)

"There floats a phantom on the slum's foul air,

Shaping, to eyes which have the gift of seeing,

Into the Spectre of that loathly lair.

    Face it--for vain is fleeing!

Red-handed, ruthless, furtive, unerect,

'Tis murderous Crime--the Nemesis of Neglect! "
